I don't even know why, but as I was re-reading rurounihime's A Persistent Curiosity, or Why Merlin is So Bloody Fascinating, I totally freaked out at a weapons misnomer. (One that they actually use in the show, so it isn't any sort of a reflection on Ru's writing, which I love with the fire of a thousand suns

They are often used interchangeably, no matter how wrong and I think the source of the confusion is the Morning Star mace, which has the look of a flail head attached to the stick.

My cleric often used a 3-headed flail. :P

You're probably right on the source of the confusion. I actually used to use them interchangeably til I started playing D&D and read the phb and sat through countless weapons lectures from Will. ^^;

3-headed flail?? Dude. I think that's one cleric I would NOT be mocking... (Which I have a tendency to do.)

LMAO. Never realised it - was busy staring at Arthur whipping the thing around his head. But... It's not Arthur's fault that HE WAS TOO O_____O OVER MERLIN'S PRETTTINESS TO THINK ABOUT WHAT COMES OUT HIS MOUTH his swordfighting tutor person taught him the wrong words, right? ;)

Yes, it's MERLIN'S OVERWHELMING PRETTY the weapons tutor's fault. When Uther learns that his son is running around calling flails maces, he has the tutor flogged. XD (Sometimes my level of nerdiness frightens me. Cause I don't care that Morgana wears three inch freaking heels, but a common misnomer like this makes me freak out. :P)
