After his longest deployment yet, Julien had never been more relieved in his life than when he touched back down on British soil. England was his second home, and he had lived there a few years now since joining the Royal Air Force. He was entitled to join due to their mother being English and he needed a dramatic change from France when the decision came. He had toyed with the idea of becoming a general pilot, but it didn't bring the excitement for him that the idea of the RAF did. His family hadn't been too keen on the idea of him enlisting in the military, but at the end of the day, they knew it was his choice and he had to do what he yearned for the most. He did have a passion for what he did, but times like this, when he had been away from his family and his twin for fourteen months, he was more than ready to take his R&R break with both hands and just stop thinking about anything to do with the military.
He was exhausted by the time he had reached Phillipe's London home, and much to his frustration, found no one home. It was his fault that he didn't announce that he was home, but he wanted to surprise his twin by getting in two days sooner than he had anticipated. Instead, he just used the spare key to Phillipe's place that he had since it was purchased and let himself in. He had planned on waiting, but the journey had taken it out of him. First the flight, and then the drive from Middlesex. He was knackered and promptly passed out on Phillipe's sofa, shoes still on and snoring lightly. It was the thought of the surprise that counted anyway, wasn't it? Four hours later, he was still there and hadn't moved one bit.
