And although my eyes were open, they might've just as well been closed...

Supposed to be working remotely today, but the pull of my bed and tales of the Black Dagger Brotherhood have proven too powerful. God, when was the last time I curled up with a book? I used to read three, maybe four a week. Before yesterday, I think the last one I cracked was Natural Born Charmer, the day of its release. And since I'm a speed- ( Read more... )

Sara, it's really starting to get eerie how alike our tastes are. (And by that, I mean that I love Amy Winehouse's album. Good call.)

It's funny... my measure of a good book is deeming it worthy of a re-read. But the mark of a great book? Wanting to read it again right away. Wanting to read it all over again, even though it made me gasp and mutter and more than likely bawl at some point. As is the case with most Suz novels and, now, (and even though, reading the early pages of Dark Lover, I knew it would happen, my gut just screamed it) is the case with Lover Awakened. When I find myself weeping for a fictional character, the author has hit Hall of Fame territory.

We must get together, the three of us, and fill the Brotherhood and their company with our dream cast, as Q, Stac and I have done for the Troubleshooters series. No, I'm serious. We have a running file.

But now, back to Butch and Vishous and all their dark and tormented glory.

I'm seeing Shane Brolly as Wrath, despite the very distinct Trent Reznor thing he's got going on. Shane's so ruthlessly regal, all planes and angles and sharp edges - perfect for our reluctant king. Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Darius, without doubt. I'm thinking one of our towering Battlestar boys as Tohr - Tahmoh Penikett. Definitely Aaron Eckhart, with his hard-living Everyman swagger, as Butch. The others... well, it goes without saying that there aren't many actors big enough to embody these boys - Zsadist is tough to pin down, as my mind's eye sees him so clearly as it is - Karl Urban, maybe. The rage is there, the razor-sharp eyes. Phury's equally tough to peg, but that might just be the hair. Heh. Kidding. My gut says Gerard Butler. And Rhage? Trying to think of someone pretty enough to pull it off but not lose that edge he so obviously needs. Simon Baker has the face, and the chops, but nowhere near the height. Still my frontrunner, though. And V... lordy. I just finished Lover Revealed, and he is, without doubt, Hugh Jackman in my ( ... )

Yes! Yes! YES!!!! I'm so happy, I could cry! I just knew you'd love the brothers, Court. I read the first fifty pages of DL and stopped to start sending you frantic IMs and psychic messages to get all four books. I knew I had to share them with you.

So tell me true, do you love Z the best? I got dibs on Wrath!

I am loving Karl Urban for Z and Hugh Jackman for V. Also like Gerard Butler for Phury. He plays heartbroken well. I think he and Karl can pass for twins, actually. Ancillary benefit: Yummy Twins!

So far, I see Jason Lewis as Rhage, just because he's the only blond god I know. Second choice would be Gabriel Aubry. Once again, only going by looks. You feel me?

So glad to know you love them, too, Sara! We must all squee together asap...

I love them shamelessly, dear. I love them like no others (except Ringo, because Sam is always the pinnacle of greatness). And yes, I do love Z best. Curse you, woman! You know me too well.

Huh. Of course I drool over the most twisted pick of the dark litter. What does that say about me?

It goes without saying that I'm absolutely infatuated with Butch, the Brotherhood's resident Buddha Boy... loyal is his name, sarcasm is his game, and Armani is his Zen. He's Kyle all grown up, in league with vampires instead of aliens and taking it all in stride. So much love for that man.

I've reread my favorite Zsadist parts (his initial meeting with Bella and his moments at the farmhouse are amazing, but the rythe scene in LE just steals my breath) and Z is definitely living and breathing in Karl. I'm tempted to Photoshop Z's scar and tarpool eyes onto the man, just to see it in the flesh. Seriously.

On a related note - this is the first time I've ever wanted to write bookfic. But the urge is there. He's calling to me, Q. He and his twin both ( ... )

*gasp*

But you must write, PT! V in the grocery store on a Saturday night? I can almost imagine where you're going with this. Then again, you've always found a way to surprise (and amaze) those of us who are lucky enough to read your stories.

And I would so love a Z/Phury-centric bookfic (in a non-twincest way). Oh the pathos! It's almost more than they any of us can bear...

Okay, you goof... I meant I was in the supermarket, not V. Though now I'm picturing it, and it's all your fault.

I've determined that the Z and Phury ficlet must be written. It has to be pre-LA, though, I'm thinking. I want Z at his darkest. And good lord, no twincest. Twincest bad. I see enough rampant brothercest in two fandoms already.

Though I do have a new plot bunny. A whole Z and Phury and V and Butch thing. No twincest, non-slashy, but damn deep. It's awesome in my head. Now let's see if I can put it on paper.
