This sounds like so much fun. Going with the flow sounds like a good idea.

One of my friends told me that, in Cambridge, fireworks are just a thing that happens on occasion. It never seems to be a long display, but they are decent-quality fireworks (i.e. not the squibs that people in Chicago would set off on the beach), so it's one of those cases where you get a little bit of nice every now and then.

Next year, I'll be around for May Week, when I am assured that the festivities will be glorious and extravagant.
