I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my body through my toes.

My friend who is on the ventilator took a turn for the worst, or so I read in an away message.  I haven't been able to get his number.  I'm afraid, and I'm so sad, and I feel like such a bad friend.

Yesterday was 1 year after my grandmother's death.
