That link makes the jump from Romney's opposition to emergency birth control in which the parents are not informed (or without prescription) to action against all contraceptives using that vector, which is a bit of a stretch.

There's just no legislation or serious talk about a "tax" on contraceptives. To sum up the article, you might as well say "Some politicians and political groups may be a bit anti-contraceptive. Maybe."

The article cites that 80% of pro-life voters support contraceptives, indicating how flimsy and contradictory the article is: "To the anti-abortion movement, contraception is the ultimate corruptor." It's just claptrap designed to incite rage and indignation, preaching to the choir.

I mean, do you think for a minute that a tax on contraceptives would ever be taken seriously?

I don't want to give any indication that I'm pro-life here. I prefer to stay out of the abortion debate, but if it came to a vote I'd be pro-choice.

But you can't get around quotes like "I fought to define life as beginning at conception rather than at the time of implantation." You can't ignore people trying to de-fund Planned Parenthood. I know that no one is directly saying that they're going to kill contraceptives, but the fact that it's even a possiblity rather worries me.

And for the record, the "tax on relationships" that I was thinking of was in the form of babies, not money paid to the government. :)
