the action scenes are well done (I really liked the boxing scene, the dancing in the last episode was terrible though); many characters are still rather ambiguous and you can't be sure there are good guys or not (Morehouse, Elisabeth) and I like that the series that should be so testosterone-filled is actually turning into a female show considering the plots and determination of Elisabeth, Eva, Annie or even Matthew Freeman's wife (can't recall her name)...and there's that con woman whose sister was an abortioner, who has been balckmailing her sister's clients, and who has now decided that she wants Francis Maguire. She reminds me of that bitch with an impossible name who was Sofia's tutor and actually worked for the Pinkertons in Deadwood.
All those women know what they want and are set on getting it....The parallel between the two of them was stressed out by their similar white dresses, that were both inappropriate : Annie is not an innocent and pure child, and Elisabeth is a widow not a bride!
It's so rare when female characters are fleshed out and get better storylines in a tv show. All my favourite shows are male-oriented shows, so this is unexpected and refreshing.
The "cunt with the Kraut moniker" was Miss Isringhausen--I think Al was the only one who enunciated each syllable clearly.
I still like "Copper", but its flaws make me sad. I'm reaching my limit of little girls talking to men about their erections...but even more disturbing was the widow with her hair down like she hadn't even made her debut yet. I hadn't thought about it, but she did look "bride-like".
The older boxer's talk about Liberia made me think of Odell, and I wanted to yell at him to maybe investigate this further...I didn't like his predictable attack on Sarah.
I do continue to like the leads, and I thought it was sweet that the non-cute guy seems to have McGuire figured out.
I'm sure I'll keep watching, but not in the "OMG, OMG, I can't wait!" way that I watch SoA, BB, MC, etc.
I am not addicted to Copper either but I appreciate its efforts to move aside from tv tropes and provide something new out of an old formula, not shying away from disturbing situations.
The only tv shows I watch that really make me all "OMG, OMG, I can't wait!" are BrBa and Justified, yet Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men and Homeland are all good shows, and most of the time FRINGE and Doctor Who are highly entertaining.
