Thanks for posting this link--it's a really good and interesting article. I agreed with a lot of it, but I guess that's the thing about fandom vs critics in general when it comes to TV shows. It's always better to indulge in a bit of both so you get that balance. Sometimes fandom is so frustrating to deal with because of its polarising nature, the need to 'ship' particular characters, love or hate them. No room for moderation :P

Also, I think there's just a lot of Moffatt-haters out there. While he has some weaknessess in his writing, he doesn't warrant the vitriol that he gets. And I don't understand the views around him being anti-feminist, or whatever. It's rubbish.

Moffat-haters are usually RTD-lovers who didn't like the Doctor Who changes after Tennant left. Me, I think he's vastly superior a writer to RTD, and I love his creativity, the way he piles up brillant ideas and the clever plots he weaves as puzzles to solve. Nobody is perfect but he's one of the best tv writers.

I think that all those who say he's sexist (oh the kerfuffle over the webisode commenting on Amy's skirts last year!)just don't understand the meta side of his writing.

Besides the man keeps posting pictures of his two latest cats on twitter so he can't be bad! ;- )

Yep, pretty much. I can't really understand the devotion to RTD and agree that Moffatt is a better writer overall. He needs to work on building empathy for his characters, but his creativity is second to none. I hope Sherlock gets him enough of a profile to start dabbling in Hollywood.

Folk who think he's sexist just don't get his writing at all on any level :D Anyone who loves cats is a friend of mine!
