All caught up

That's it, I'm done watching the episodes I missed while I was away, mostly Breaking Bad's "Open House" and "Bullet Points". The latter was simply amazing: a super cool cold open, three great conversation scenes involving Walt (the "bullet points" one being both funny and horrible and almost made me feel sorry for Walt), new heartbreaking Jesse ( Read more... )

True Blood is just not working for me at all. Reminiscent of the horrorshow that was S2. Yikes. The writing is so bad that it's a bit flabbergasting. Apparently Ball can plot just can't write dialogue. He's veered completely away from the original material - although Harris cannot write either.

We're still hammering away at Breaking Bad - S1 episodes 4-6 but it's not quite catching us. Yet.

We've gotten hook line and sinkered on "Prison Break", though.

True Blood has always been very silly and soap opera-ish with an over-the-top touch, and last season was already very bad but now it's also boring. Sometimes I'm ashamed of watching certain tv shows!

I've never watched Prison Break, to me it seemed like the OZ of the poor man but I was probably unfair to judge without knowing.

I hope you will stick to Breaking Bad for season is simply terrific.

Waaah, don't talk to me about Breaking Bad! I miss it soooo badly!! I can't download via the hotel net here in Prague so I've only seen the first episode. One week then I can finally catch up (same goes for true blood but there I bear the waiting more easily).

Oh I understand, but you'll get to see 4 wonderful episodes at once when you catch up!

I'm talking about Breaking Bad, not True blood, of course...;- )

I'm meant to be watching True Blood, but finding myself geeking out on Breaking Bad instead. I'm finding it real hard to watch other fictional shows while BB is on--it makes everything else seem so ordinary in comparison :P

Goodness, I need to catch up on The Wire, and re-watch OZ. It's funny you mentioned Dean Winters...he was probably the closest thing I had to a TV crush on that show. The last time I saw Winters was in 30 Rock as one of Liz's boyfriends--he was hilarious and adorable all at once, which is quite a contrast to him in OZ as Ryan. And I can't believe I'd forgotten Battista was in OZ, as well as the actress who's Gloria! Darn small world is HBO!

True Blood is silly and badly written most of the time, so you aren't missing much.

Dean Winters was also on Rescue Me and on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and still very cute. :- )

OZ still makes me cry buckets. It's a timeless gem as true masterpieces are. HBO took real risks with that one!

I'm now in season 4, just after Kareem Said killed Adebisi.

Yeah, I know TB is silly. But the way Breaking Bad is headed, I feel like I need some silliness in my life :)

Ah, he's on Rescue Me as well? I've vaguely heard of the show--what's it about?

Between OZ and The Sopranos, HBO was TV love for me in the late 90s-early 2000s. Aside from Buffy and Angel, of course.

Shhhh....rewatch spoilers! I've forgotten most of what happens when! :D

Oops...

Rescue Me is about New York firemen, post 9/11. I watched the first two seasons but it got repetitive afterwards, then I forgot about looking for it online and finally have dropped it.

Methinks I'll have a Buffy marathon-rewatch this winter.
