I'm already halfway in Deadwood's season 2. I know I should slow down but it's addictive.

I have many things to say about "Requiem for a Gleet", "Complications (Formerly Difficulties") and "Something Very Expensive", and I need to write a proper post on the show, but I'm too tired right now so this ain't it.

OZ and BtVS are still very dear to me, ( Read more... )

I don't know if you've noticed, but I swear, any time one of our politicians or otherwise famous guys get caught in embarrassing situations, their apologies all sound the same. Like there's a laminated speech they pass around when it's their turn to say "sorry" to the public, and their families, etc. I want a big "I DON'T CARE" button on my remote when that stuff comes on.

If it makes you feel any better, my former state governor may go to jail over spending $$ to cover up his mistress and their child.

Can't wait for your discussion of your recent Deadwood viewing, by the way. We should be watching "New Money" tonight.

We're very new to this over here. Sex isn't really an issue in France(I mean having affairs and committing adultery is like a national sport for our politicans they wouldn't think of apologizing for it and media don't talk about private life anyway) unless there's some potential crime going on like abuse/harrassment (the DSK case of corse, but there's also the Tron case) or, lately there's a sort of sex scandale about a former minister (it's a rumour more than anything else and the name of said former minister hasn't been revealed yet)who would have been caught in Morocco with young boys and the whole thing would have been covered up then...

But yes they seem to deliver the same speech over and over in America. I guess it's all about confessing a sin and asking for forgiveness, it's in your religious roots.

By the way I just read this article:http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/newsdesk/2011/06/women-in-
