My response to a convincing arguement for atheism

Stephen Fry makes some truly excellent points about religion, and his reasons for not believing in God are intelligent and well-argued. I enjoy listening to his justification for atheism and his explanations about why it is the logical conclusion. When I was in graduate school and seminary, I loved getting into what I referred to as "theological gymnastics" with my fellow students and, later, with fellow clergy. When I began exploring outside Christianity, I loved sharing with others who were doing the same.

I don't have those outlets anymore, and perhaps they had their season and it is now time for more inner reflection and "sorting through" my thinking.

What I do know is that after all the talking and thinking is done, what I have left is my experience of Other. The name I have used for Other has changed over my lifetime, but the experiences have a lovely, common thread that runs through them....a thread of continuity. That is what sustains me.
