In the Third Order of the Society of St Francis, during the noviciate (normally of two years), there are 'Formation Notes' that the novice is to read and respond to. I been sadly slow in making my response (which means I'll have to do more that one set a month from now on if I wish to be professed at the end of these 2 years).

How lovely of you to share all of this with us! Thank you. Franciscan Spirituality is something of a lovely flower among the thorns and brambles of the world. Francesco had a gentle soul, yet a "stout" soul. He came when the Church needed him most. The pope told him that he was an answer to prayer, and that he would hold up the Church with his slight shoulders. I think he did just that!

Bless you for feeling drawn to his charism! I'm sure you will find yourself richly blessed because of it.
