Wasn't Alan Tudyk fantastic as Alpha? The creepier he got, the greater my love for him grew. Joss always finds brilliant people, and I love that he likes to bring them into whatever new projects he's working on.
I'm really looking forward to the new season. I haven't heard anything plot-wise, but I've been really pleased and intrigued by what I've heard regarding casting.
I'm not familiar with the actor from anything else he's done, but that was definitely an awesome switch into Alpha. I hope he makes some more appearances for season 2!
I've got pretty high hopes for season 2 being fantastic from start to finish as Joss generally does well once he's got past the first season hurdles. Plus only 13 episodes will hopefully they will go into it with a really focused plan, and no filler episodes
I've been thinking of getting the DVD actually, but I can't find any info on whether the UK set includes extras or not :/
Alan was in Firefly. He's also been in a lot of movies: 3:10 to Yuma, A Knight's Tale, Death at a Funeral, Knocked Up, to name a few. And he'll be making an appearance in the upcoming remake of "V".
Fox... you mean another lot of Murdoch group, whose Sky broadcast Buffy season four without 4.10 ("Hush")? The greatest single BtVS episode ever and one of the greatest things ever done for television? Well, it seems that Murdoch's lot are consistent, if nothing else.
From everything I've heard it's been pretty ridiculous how they've treated Dollhouse, I'm surprised Joss ever gave them another chance in the first place
It just makes me sick how he has been treated in general. BtVS is one of the history-making tv series of all time, it opened a whole new perspective on tv fiction, and look at all the crap he has had since.
My understanding is that 13 was the closure episode, because they assumed they weren't getting renewed. I'm torn between digging up a copy, because everyone seems to love it, and watching next season without, to compare experiences with the more enlightened.
13 eps means they got a half-season renewal. Some of the cable channels are now doing more like British tv and not going with rigid full 22-episode seasons, but since FOX is a traditional network, that means that if Dollhouse picks up in the ratings, they'll presumably get the final 9 greenlighted. But I'm not holding my breath. ;-)
I think it's worth watching as I really did love it. It kind of reminds me of season 4 of Buffy when Primevil was the episode for closing off the main arc, but Restless was then the finale episode for setting up the next season
And I'm surprised that Fox even agreed to one more season honestly, but then they have a contract with Eliza to have a show I believe, so perhaps they just figured it was cheaper to stick with Dollhouse now that the main sets are build now
People acted like it was an outrage that Firefly got screwed around, but it wasn't this great marvellous show some people think it was
I never saw Firefly, but from what people have said the problem there was Fox airing the episodes out of order, and then canceling after just 13 episodes.
And I would like to see Joss and Sarah work together again :)
Firefly deserved to be cancelled after 13 eps. And I don't think it would have been a big sucess even if it had been aired in order. It's simply not general appeal. It's just not that relatable.

I just rewatched the last episode, and I had almost forgotten how depressing it was. I can't wait for new episodes.
