I haven't seen it yet, but I'm trying to align the planets so that I'll be able to tonight. :) So, I thought it would be fitting with the US release we get a little bit of buzz going around these parts

Is that just horribly adorable? Hah. I've seen several of the Paul interviews and much like the Hot Fuzz promo you get a lot of the same type of press stuff, but that one was just delightful.
Nick still seems to feel so out of place in interviews, though.
I'm worried about seeing it. Part of me knows it won't be as amazing as everything else they've done - but at the same time it's like... Simon and Nick!
Yeah, I think he feels like Simon is better at communicating, and maybe he is because he's a writer, but I know that Nick is one of the best people I've ever seen in my life, so sometimes I want to kick Simon for talking so much because maybe, just maybe, he could force Nick to break the awkward silence once. But I'm sure that's just how they work, Simon knows he's not totally comfortable, so he just takes over and occasionally asks Nick a question with a story about them that's too adorable for words.
Oh I'm going to see it! I just don't know when. Unfortunately I splurged on a puppy last month and basically I'm out 2000 or so dollars for a while, which is a lot when one is working part time. Bah-humbug all over.
*nod* He really seems uncomfortable in interviews, but it's like just letting Simon talk works out for him and when the attention is on him he doesn't know what to say. Hah. I would think that's probably exactly how it works out for them, just letting Simon take over the conversation until Nick has something utterly amazing to add. Hah.
It's so brilliant. It deserves LEGIONS of fic. A friend of mine and I set up 3tits_awesome for general Paul awesomeness, but it's still fairly quiet. We shall have to do something to fix that, me things :D
The movie is a real treat. It almost comes across as a memoir to Simon and Nick's time before stardom- sci-fi geekouts and all. And the wonderful bromance/romance shines right through; they call each other Eggy and Sausage! Really, totally worth the price of the ticket.
Oh my gosh, I couldn't agree more! I saw SO MUCH of Simon and Nick in it. Particularly important I think was Clive's "growing away" from Graeme - particularly the scene with Paul where he admits to not only being jealous of Ruth, but also of Paul himself.
The little RPF part of my brain is abuzz telling me that's completely a sort of exorcising of his coping with their friendship evolving to being separate from each other.
AND OMG, I am shipping Clive/Graeme even harder than the film did. EGGY AND SAUSAGE!!!! *flail* I'm writing it now, I never write the first time I watch something, but I have to get this out of my head before it eats my brain.
*nod* It seems to just sort of be an evolutionary tale in that respect.
And it seriously is. Hah. I've got a bit sketched out right now that picks up immediately post film - pre epilogue dealing with the Clive-Graeme disconnect. I totally hope to see more, I can only imagine the possibilities.
I mean, honestly - they didn't even flesh out the boys' pre-comicon life.
Okay, I did a full proper post about it on My LJ but I just had to add my bit...
I adored it! Slashy and delightful and funny and so very Simon and Nick. Def. lacking the Edgar qualities, but you can really tell this is Simon & Nick's baby - I can't wait to see the DVD extras.
And I'm so slashing it. Has anyone else written it yet? I'd love to see...

I probably won't be able to see it theatrically again, but it is a must buy once the DVD drops.
Has anyone written for it yet? AO3 and FFN have turned up negatory.
