I've been thinking a lot since my entry entitled Projects of Doom, and fortunately I'm starting to feel better about things.  I have this bad habit of comparing myself to others, which really makes no sense at all since, because of our differences in the way we view and approach our work, it's really impossible to compare me to a lot of other

I wouldn't say wars are about competition so much as domination, but both have a lot to do with power, which is what war is really about (that and the fact that people are stupid and evil and like to fight each other...)

Wars have to do with a lot of things, definitely including domination. But I think people want to dominate because they want to be the best, which relates back to competition. People think about competition in different ways, but the way I define it is wanting to be the best, wanting power, and the willingness to do anything to be the best and show that you're the best and get your way. People do tend to like to fight each other, which is obviously what wars are all about, and fighting I also think of as a form of competing.
