Who is the Lord really?

10:23 AM 9/7/10 · An ongoing sore point for me has been when anyone refers to Jesus as the 'Lord'. It's not I think him undeserving of the title so much as it is that he didn't want any special treatment when he was alive. It's actually something a bit more practical with "the lord" bit - if I recall rightly, the Tanakh refers to The Being Represented By The Tetragrammaton either as "The Name" or "The Lord", so as to avoid saying the name. Jesus, by virtue of the Trinity or The Word Made Flesh, is also that being and thus becomes the Lord as well.

As for the second hell, Dante Aligheri is probably a person to read. Inferno basically posits that kind of hell, although Virgil and the virtuous pagans are still in Hell until the very end when Final Judgment happens. So while Dante may not be the person who came up with it, he definitely lays it out.
