Oh for Christ's sake.

What do you do when the wireless router that people subcontracted from Charter installed SUDDENLY REQUIRES A STRANGE NEW WEP KEY?!

ETA: Okay, so, yeah, I finally managed to type in the right IP address to bring up the router settings, and then put in my own info, but man, HOW BIZARRE IS THAT?! It just suddenly decides it' ( Read more... )

Good luck on the interview, mamacita! Hope it all goes well with your B12 as well.

And hey, your past experience has taught you what to look out for in interviews. If you find out anyone at MegaGod Company calculates suicide rates for a living, RUN FOR THE HILLS!

The B12 is definitely improving things. God, I think I might have truly gone nuts with the whole corporate soul-sucking job incident had I felt like I felt before!

Do you have any idea why my wireless router allows me to connect to my work's VPN, but not to our internal Sharepoint site, or Outlook?

That is bizarre. I... I can't even begin to fathom a guess. Other than, "to make your life that much more difficult".

I've been doing the thing where if I have interviews, I don't say anything about them because I don't want to jinx them, and we all know how that's worked out (Crazy People, Cheapskates, Douchebags Who Led Me On, and Buncha Liars) so this time, I'll tell EVERYONE.

DUDE THIS IS MY THINKING, TOO.
EFF IT, TELL THE WHOLE FREAKING WORLD.
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, ROCK THAT BEACH OF AN INTERVIEW!

Also - did you know that local ISP's change IP addys for their customers constantly? I thought they were fixed and didn't change, but apparently this is some sort of security protocal that protects users from being hacked. File that under GTK.

I had NO IDEA! I knew that they were usually automatically generated, but I thought at that point they remained fixed until you either released/renewed the IP address or changed your network some other way.

Very GTK, thanks!
