Pretty undies = ok/optional. You need something to cheer you up.
Camera @ funeral/wake = weird. It's not the sort of occasion for happy snaps. Maybe if you all get together the day after for lunch or something.

Although, when great Uncle Dotti died my wog relative FILMED the funeral and sent the tape to my ancient wog relatives over in Malta who couldn't make it...

But old country cemeteries are so damn fascinating!! I wasn't planning on taking photos of the people so much, as the guff that surrounds a funeral. Funerals are weird places.

fyi if you're wearing a tie at a funeral custom says it should be black

Guess I should of put (sarcasm) in brackets above my comment. I will be wearing my red tie. My Gran wouldn't mind a bit.

Wear your pretties beneath your sensible hat etc. :p

make yourself feel good

And a red tie isn't a problem. I wore red shoes to my goddaughters funeral because she loved them.

I wasn't fazed by the red tie either. I'm pretty sure custom doesn't dictate women should wear suits either, but I will be :)

No one will perform an undie check (unless you're super lucky), so wear what you want. These things often bring people together who haven't seen each other for a long time, so a few civilised group shots might be appreciated by the old folks. No harm in taking a camera.

Divine_misse om kittys.....drunk/sorry.

I have picked up at many funerals...usually late into the wake is better than graveside, but play yje crowd as you see best.

Hence pretty undies best. Wear red ones to match the tie. Black rope will offset well.

Anh hugz for you in yourtime of loss.

camera is good.
we had a photo trauma at dad's funeral - everyone had jobs so we gave camera to 15 yr old nephew to take pics of people so we had a record, he got too shy so we have a large collection of the younger nephews pulling silly camera faces and some fuzzy group shots. ma was quiet upset with that.

colour is also good. dad remarked at a family funeral we went to 10+ yrs ago that we looked lovely (not in 100% blacks) and he wanted similar at his. Dark is nice but colours make one look less like nonnas from the greek isles.
