The next day Ueda headed over to the place where Seventeen had set up so they could do their interview with him.
“Good morning.” He said, bowing as he walked in.
“Good morning.” All the staff replied as they busied around.
“Please follow me Ueda-san.” A young woman around twenty led Ueda to a table and indicated for him to sit down.
“Thank you.” He said politely and sat down.
“Kinoue-san, Ueda-san is here.” She said into a hidden microphone. “Yes. Okay. I’ll inform him.”
“Kinoue-san will be here in about five minutes.” She told Ueda. “There are refreshments over on that table.” She indicated to the table. “Feel free to help yourself to anything you’d like.”
“Thank you.” Ueda said before getting up.
He walked over to the refreshments table and poured himself a cup of coffee. He brought it back to the table and sat down, waiting for Kinoue-san.
“Ueda-san!” Someone suddenly cried.
Ueda turned around trying to find the source of the voice.
“Sorry that I’m late.” A voice in front of him said.
Ueda turned around. “Oh! You must be Kinoue-san, no?” He rose to shake her hand.
“Yes, I’m Kinoue. Thank you for waiting. Let’s started shall we?” She sat down.
Ueda sat down and smiled.
“Well, first off. Let me tell you that the majority of the questions were sent in by fans.” Kinoue-san informed Ueda.
“That’s cool. I was wondering how you guys came up with 1037 questions anyways.” Ueda laughed.
Kinoue-san laughed lightly before continuing. “Well, let’s get started then.”
Kinoue-san turned on a small tape recorder and set it down on the table before speaking.
“So Ueda-san, when is your birthday?”
“October 4th, 1983.”
“What did you do on your birthday this year?”
Ueda thought for a moment before responding. “Well, on the day of my birthday, Yamashita-san (NEWS) showed up unexpectedly in KAT-TUN’s dressing room and told everyone to keep that evening free.”
Kinoue-san laughed. “So what happened next?”
“Well, I was surprised. I thought to myself, what has Yamashita-san planned? So after, we went to film Cartoon Kat-Tun and after, Nakamaru treated me to late lunch as a birthday gift.”
“Well that was nice of Nakamaru-san!” Kinoue-san suddenly interrupted.
Ueda laughed. “Yes it was, wasn’t it? When we got back to work though, all the lights had been turned off. I thought there had been an power-out!” Ueda laughed at the memory before continuing. “Well, Nakamaru and I went inside and I was really scared at that time. So all of a sudden, the lights turn back on. I was all like, oh thank god the lights came back on but then, everyone in NEWS, KAT-TUN, and Arashi jumped out and shouted ‘Happy birthday Ueda!’ I was really surprised. I thought to myself, wow. Did everybody come to wish me a happy birthday?”
“It sounds like everyone is really nice!” Kinoue-san commented.
“Yes! Even my senpais came. To the members of Arashi, thanks for coming to my impromptu birthday party! Anyways, so we all went to Yamashita-san’s house. I think we all stayed there the whole entire night.” Ueda laughed.
“So what did you do there?”
“We all drank a lot. We’re all overage, Jin said. So Jin and Yamashita-san pulled out what seemed like 20 cases of beer.”
“That must have been quite a party!”
“Yes it was!”
“So let’s continue with the next question. What are some of your favorite foods?”
“Hm… I’d say spaghetti, steak, sashimi and Caesar’s salad.”
“Next is a question submitted by a fan. How is your relationship with Nishikido Ryo of NEWS now?”
Ueda blinked for a moment before replying. “Well… I guess it’s okay. Last year he told me he was sorry for being so mean to me during Shounen Club. Even though the fights were scripted he told me that he might have taken them too far. I told him it was okay and that I forgave him.”
“Aww,” Kinoue-san cooed. “That’s so cute!” She blushed and motioned for Ueda to continue.
“So anyways, he’s taken me out for a drink a few times. One time, he even treated me to lunch! Even though it was only ramen, I felt really touched by what he did.”
“So Nishikido-san and your relationship is getting better isn’t it?”
“You could say so.” Ueda smiled.
As the interview continued for the next hour and a half, Ueda’s life was discussed and the interview went smoothly.
-- Kon Kon! -
When Ueda got home that night, he was surprised to find Ryo outside. Like Ryo was waiting for him.
“Nishikido-san.” Ueda said, surprised.
“I told you to call me Ryo.” Ryo said quietly.
“… Ryo-san.”
Ryo smiled. “Open the door?”
Ueda immediately dropped everything else to the group and he rummaged in his bag to look for his keys.
“Ah hah! Found them.” Ueda victoriously held up the keys and got up to open his door. “Go in.” He motioned for Ryo to go inside while he picked up his things.
Ryo looked around the place before sitting down cautiously on a sofa.
“Give me a minute.” Ueda told Ryo before running up his huge circular staircase with all his bags.
What’s up with his place? Ryo thought. It practically screams money.
Ueda came running down the stairs. “Sorry.”
Ryo blinked. “For what?”
“For…” Ueda gestured randomly.
“Oh.” Ryo understood what Ueda was trying to say.
“So…” Ueda said awkwardly.
“I, um, originally wanted to see if you wanted to go out for a drink or something but you didn’t pick up your cell so I decided to come by and wait for you.”
“Oh. Couldn’t you have gone with Akanishi then if I didn’t pick up?”
“Well, you’re a much better drinking partner than Bakanishi. He wouldn’t end up drunk; he’d end up partying the night away with some girl. And Pi doesn’t get drunk. Too often anyways. And he was busy tonight so I couldn’t ask him to come with me.”
“Oh. What about your Kanjani8 friends then?”
“They’re all in Osaka right now, remember? I have to take the train tomorrow morning to Osaka.”
“Right.” Ueda remembered.
“So want go out for a drink?” Ryo asked.
“I’ve got some beer here, we can just drink here instead of heading out and paying a ridiculous amount of money for some beers.” Ueda suggested.
“That sounds like a good idea.” Ryo agreed.
Ueda walked into his kitchen, opened the fridge and pulled out a few cases of beer.
“Help yourself.” Ueda told Ryo.
Ryo immediately picked up a can and chugged it down.
Ueda stared at Ryo. So fast. I wonder why he wanted to go drinking tonight anyways.
“Ah.” Ryo let out a sound of enjoyment. “That’s my good old beer.” He smiled fondly.
Ueda picked up a can and joined Ryo on the sofa. “So why’d you wanted to go drinking tonight?”
Ryo was silent for a moment before replying, “I felt lonely.”
Ueda was surprised. “Really?”
“Yeah.”
The two of them sat on Ueda’s sofa for a while, quietly drinking their beers.
“So what’s that picture Pi’s been showing around?” Ryo asked suddenly.
“Eh?” Ueda was startled. He realized with a sweat that it was that photo that he was talking about.
“Pi won’t show it to me.” Ryo whined.
“It shouldn’t be anything.” Ueda tried to reassure Ryo.
“But I’m the only one who he won’t show it to!” Ryo latched onto Ueda.
“Ryo -- ”
“Tat-chan~” Ryo sang. “I’m sure you’ve seen the picture too?” Ryo took another drink.
“Ryo, I, you’re drunk.” Ueda said flatly.
“I’m not drunk! The great Osaka man doesn’t get drunk!” Ryo giggled.
“Ryo.” Ueda said before placing down his can of beer.
“Ne, Uebo.” Ryo said blowing air softly on Ueda’s earlobe.
Ueda gasped. What was that feeling just now? “Ryo. Ryo. Stop it. You’re drunk.” He said gently.
“Tat-chan~” Ryo complained. “Please?” Ryo moved his hand to underneath Ueda’s t-shirt and lightly traced Ueda’s muscles.
Oh god. Ueda thought. The touch was electrifying. “Ryo.” He gasped as Ryo moved his hand even higher.
“Hm? What do you want Uebo?” Ryo teased.
“Ryo, stop it. You’re - ah!” Ueda tried to stop Ryo but failed when Ryo brushed his finger over his left nipple.
Ryo smirked. “You liked that, didn’t you?”
“Ryo!” Ueda gasped as Ryo rolled his nipple around his fingers. “Stop, stop - “ He let out a small moan. Suddenly all movement stopped. “Ryo?” Ueda looked down at Ryo.
Ryo let out a huge snore. Ryo had fallen asleep, Ueda realized. Damn. Ueda said to himself. Ueda gently moved Ryo off himself and hurriedly ran to the washroom to take care of his little problem.
-- Kon Kon! -
When Ryo woke up, his head was pounding like there were 1000 little dwarves in his head, pounding away with their hammers.
“Ugh…” Ryo groaned.
“Morning.” Ueda said curtly,
“……”
“You fell asleep here yesterday.”
“Oh.” Ryo blinked. That would explain why the living room looked so much different from his.
“Breakfast is on the counter over there. You’d better hurry if you wanna catch your train to Osaka.”
“Thanks, Ueda.” Ryo said gratefully. He got off the sofa and asked, “Can I use your washroom for a second?”
“Down the hall, second room on your left.” Ueda answered.
“Thanks.” Ryo picked up his bag and made his way to the washroom.
Ueda let out a sigh. I don’t think Ryo remembers what he did last night, does he?
Ryo came back out of the washroom. “Thanks for breakfast, Ueda.” He looked at the clock. “ Oh crap! The train leaves in an hour. I’d better get going.” Ryo picked up his bags and hurriedly put on his shoes.
Ryo turned around. “Thanks.” He said one last time before opening the door and running outside to catch a taxi to the train station.
“You’re welcome.” Ueda said softly, after Ryo had left.
What was this feeling?
A/N: This chapter was ... haha. I was blushing while writing that part so bad.
