Please read and honour this request

I'm glad the picture circulating Tumblr that started this discussion wasn't posted to this community in the first place, but I'm reposting this request just in case, for future reference (whether it's a genuine request by MF or not, the message still stands):

Even though I post links to filming pictures here, I would never knowingly post pictures of Martin's children (here or elsewhere).

Also the photographer has removed the photos in question from his/her flickr account.
Unfortunately, a few people are still circulating the photos on tumblr.

I know you don't. You have been very sensible about what you post to the various communities, while still ensuring that they get updated frequently with news, photos, etc.

I am afraid however that once something is on Tumblr, it will always stay there. Unfortunately a message will never reach everyone and even when it does, not everyone will feel it right to oblige.

Which is why I put this up here in case someone missed the request and thinks of posting something likewise in the future :)

Am I the only person who gets really creeped out by that message every time I see it? No matter whether you agree with a message or not, passing off an anonymous message that's very likely a fake as coming from a celebrity just makes me really uncomfortable. We can easily get the same point across with our own words, can't we?

You're not the only one creeped out by this. I mean, I totally get the point of the message and agree with it 100%. But I highly doubt that it's from Mr. Freeman himself for various reasons, and if someone else really wrote this message in his name and in his "style", then it would be equally as unacceptable for me as the whole reposting-photo-of-his-kids thing itself.

You're not the only one. I cringe every time I see it. D:

Impersonating celebrities on the Internet is nothing new and I wouldn't consider this creepy when considering the more fannish side of things such as fic and RP Twitter account (I am talking about the actors being the subjects here, not the characters). If this is what it takes to make people listen, then so be it.
