It wasn't often someone invited her out for drinks any more. Maybe they assumed that because she was a mom, she wouldn't want to, which couldn't be further from the truth. She had a toddler - she needed a drink MORE than most people, not less.

As soon as they reached the lounge Kitty started searching through the refrigerator.

"Beer sound good?"

"Perfect."

With a weary sigh, Nat flopped down on the nearest sofa and was tempted to kick off her shoes, but decided to wait until she turned in for the night. It was strange that although she'd only spent a few months at the BPRD before leaving, it was the closest she'd felt to being home.

Thanks to Red's and Logan's presence at the Bureau, the refrigerator was always fully stocked with beer. Kitty took two with twist-off caps and joined Nat on the couch. She handed one to her before opening her own.

"So did you miss us?"

To be honest, Nat was surprised the guys hadn't installed kegerators for their stash. She smiled and clinked the proffered bottle against Kitty's

"Like you wouldn't believe," she replied. "There's enough crazy stuff off-world to make this place seem tame."
