"Practice. It's all about practice. My glamour can last while I sleep, but I've had over four hundred years to work on that. It's just like shielding. Eventually, it's just there, like breathing. Or like a natural reaction. Someone throws something at your head, your arm comes up to catch it. Someone throws a spell at you or tries to sneak a peek inside your head, your shields come up to stop it. You just have to start thinking of it as less of an external, learned thing, and more of a part of yourself; something you can train to respond to subconscious commands. Because, lemme tell you, your subconscious generally knows what's up before your conscious mind does."
Molly just blinks at the other woman. She knew Harry had a unique roommate but this is throwing her for a loop. "Um...I think that's the sort of thing Harry's supposed to teach me, isn't it?"
