Human love was the greatest thing the Earth could provide. At least, in Sariel's mind. The moment two people realize that they are meant to share their lives together is a magical sight to behold. Even better were all the trappings and customs that came with the entire concept. The courtship rituals were intriguing, as they varied from one culture to the next and he enjoyed spotting the differences in between. There were the different freedoms one could enjoy in love, depending on one's status, which he saw as a bit unfair. Shouldn't all humans be able to enjoy all the fruits that love could give them?

But then? Oh then.

Then there was the ritual of 'making love', which Sariel was happy to note stayed at a relative constant, no matter the culture. He had stumbled upon the act one day as he kept watch a little too long after a couple got into an argument and, well...

Sariel never expected an argument to end like that. And the humans seemed so happy afterward that he found himself flipping around to different couples, seeing if he ( ... )
