Hey, I keep missing you on AIM. Anyways I'm applying for JR Copy Editor at Tokyopop and I was wondering if I could somehow name drop you to better my chances? Or if you had any insider info you could share (like possibly the name of the person who would be getting my application)
I know I've got a snowball's chance in hell to get this position, but I figure I might as well take three seconds to e-mail them a resume.
Are you really prepared to move to LA? It sounds like all your friends and your entire support network is where you're living now.
Also, it sounds terrible, but... you're not doing this in hopes of getting a comic published by them, are you? Maybe not as the primary reason, but is there a chance you're hoping "With my foot in the door this way, I'll have an easier time submitting"? Just in case you are, this is the wrong way to go about it, and it's not very likely that it would help you. :/ You either work in the industry or you work for it as an author/artist, but they're kind of two separate worlds.
But I can't help, I don't know for sure who it's going to, and dropping my name isn't going to help, so I'd prefer you didn't. Good luck though!
