I finished it yesterday, and I agree that everything seemed very neatly wrapped up. I was more confused that there wasn't more at the end to explain a few things. Harry had kids, but what's his job? Who took care of Lupin's kid in the meantime? Doesn't Harry think it's a little creepy calling his kids by his mom and dad's names? Because I sure would.

It explained about Lupin's kid--the mention of Teddy who was always coming over to eat 4 nights a week, and they've all practically adopted him, etc etc. You probably meant who took him in primarily though--I'd assume Tonks's mom? But yeah, not explained. I think it's a bit mean to explain what happens to SOME characters but not ALL. And you know JK knows it and has it planned out somewhere. Perhaps in this encyclopedia she might write someday...

And yeah. The kids' names suck. Couldn't he be a BIT more original? Use the parents' names as MIDDLE names? That's what I would do.

See, I figured that Harry as the godfather would probably take in Teddy. (And honestly, naming the kid after Tonk's dad was creepy also.) Not right maybe, but at some point. Maybe there's some cultural thing that I'm not picking up on. Perhaps in England it's more common to name children after their grandparents or dead relatives. I mean, sure people in my family are named after each other, but it's never quite such an immediate connection.

The epilogue kind of read like weird fanfiction. I know it's her book, but it still read that way. Maybe it would've been more effective to go fewer years into the future instead of 19. (Why 19 years?) If she jumped up 5 or so, that would give us a clue to the future without weirdly spelling it out.

What was up with all the kids being named after their grandparents? It reeks of a complete LACK of creativity. I do like the nickname Teddy though. But I'm halfway surprised Draco's kid wasn't named Lucius.

Btw, did you know that Albus Severus/Scorpius is the new OTP? That shit is cracking me up. It spells out AS/S!!! (For more check the_ass_ship)

I was tempted to respond to this post after I'd finished the book. But it was, like, 5:30 in the morning when I'd finished it.

I have to say that it was one of the most perfect book endings I've ever read. Everything kind of fit together perfectly and all just dropped into place.

But really
<\3 'cause it's over now.
