Don't think he isn't hurt. He's in love with Fernando, they both know it, they both worked on perhaps making what they had more, but as his lover he also knows a bit of what is going on in Nando's head. They've had their fight about hurt and disappointment and anger, but I didn't think it was part of this story, so I left it out. And also, Dan's had many many more days than us to cope with it, when we arrive at this point. He is still hurt, but he has reached a certain point of acceptance. And he feels that Nando isn't feeling exactly happy, so he's able to push his own negative feelings away for that night.

Thanks for reading even if you don't feel as forgiving as me :)

Oh it wasn't easy, believe me. Accusations were creeping in all the time, but that wasn't what I wanted for this, so I deleted it again.
There's a whole other story happening days before this, but that'll never get properly written and posted, I don't think.

Your comment doesn't suck :)

This is incredibly bittersweet. I don't particularly like Fernando for leaving (but I understand that if he wanted the quick fix for silverware, he thought he needed to go -which means I don't agree), and I don't think Daniel is this forgving, but it's a nice POV and it made me feel for Fernando.

Thanks for sharing!

I don't like it at all, but I can somehow understand him, even if there is still a lot I DON'T understand about it.
And don't think Dan's reaction was just "You're leaving? Well, good to have known you, mate, good luck in London." Far from it.

Thanks for reading

This is how I interpret what I've been hearing him say: I can't win medals at Liverpool, I'm grateful to the club, but I want medals. It hurts, I don't like it, I actually still wish him the best, although never against Liverpool.

No, I'm sure he wasn't. But Daniel seems like the type of guy to hold a grudge. Like, forever. :)

That's exactly it. Although he's far from the only footballer thinking that way, it obviously hurts when it happens at 'your' club.

Oh, Nando will feel his fury on the pitch for sure ;)

well this is definitely a complete different approach to the whole situation as the other stories I read so far, I can't really say which one I like more though.

My emotions still switch from being angry to understanding, so it was good to read this out of Fernando's POV as well.

Ah this whole situation is still so difficult and I'm still not sure what to feel... anyway I like the idea of the story, regardless if I agree with the sympathy or not ;)

oh and this He's so attuned to him, in another world, another time, they would have been perfect together. is really bittersweet!

My emotions switch all the time as well, it was a struggle to keep it in one direction and one direction only.
The only way to make my mind up about this for certain would be if I was able to speak to Nando and we know how likely that is. :)

Thank you

I guess this isn't the best thing to read after just having read what he said at that damn press conference. *sigh*

I wish it could have been like this. That it could have ended with acceptance and sympathy and forgiving. But I'm so disillusioned about the way it did. Still, I'm always going to read every Dan/Fernando story I can get my hands on, and I still appreciate the good ones no matter what they're about. Please please please don't stop. ♥

No. After the hurt of day one and then the calm I was feeling surprisingly, I was so ready to hop on the next plane and rip him a new one yesterday. This might also be part due to what the papers made out of what he said as I didn't see the presser, but anyway, I was angry.

I won't, thank you.
