My house is apparently in the middle of a major flightpath.

It must be, the amount of planes that fly over. Not counting the weedy little biplanes and glider-things.

Fr'instance, the Red Arrows flew over today, on their way back from Portrush.

The fact that I think seeing the Red Arrows randomly fly past my bedroom window is really cool worries me. I'm such a nerd.

(It was still really cool though)

insanity, real life, pointlessness

I'd find it really cool too. It was one of the things I adored about my last job since we were a stone's throw from the local airport and when it came to air shows we'd get Spitfires and the like flying over.

Being nerdy about planes is fun, right? =D

Oooh, Spitfires! That's the only good thing about airports in my book (I get twitchy when there's too many strangers near me). I always keep an eye out for the military parts when we're taxiing about the runways, since they always have something interesting.

(There was also the time in Crete when we were down the road from a military base, and every day at around 1pm, a jet would fly over the sea and break the sound barrier. And I made sure I was always there to watch it! ^-^')

I am a sucker for military planes! I'm not sure I'd feel right living far from an airbase as I always have.

Yes! They are of the awesome! The only time I get to see them though is whenever I fly out of Belfast International, since its still partly a RAF base. They fly lots of military choppers over my house though, often in huge convoys.
