is having his usual (4th annual?) Superbowl Tea Party... but that's generally for people who like tea and commercials better than football.
I'll be in Florida though, enjoying the warmth and not thinking about football :)
(too bad it had to be this weekend, since the superbowl tea party is always a good time)

Also, am I hallucinating, or did there used to be a week between the conference championship games and the superbowl?

yes; in the days of lore, it was called "Pro Bowl Weekend".
this year they moved the pro bowl (aka the NFL All-Star Game) to the week *after* the superbowl, which is a much better place for it IMHO.
