- I understand that I have a serious peeve about entitlement, but there's one way that it affects me on a nearly-daily basis: The doors on the subway train are wide enough for two people to exit at the same time. I've had a lot of difficulty with that in life. The T depressed the crap out of me.

It doesn't help if you are getting off the train, but I find that if I deliberately stand out of the way of the door, usually others will follow my example. I tend to stand perpendicular to the T, in a clear "I am waiting" pose, NOT directly facing the doors. It's effective about half the time.

Of course, lots of folks just can't handle thinking ahead. I try to use it as a personal moment to be more patient (this... doesn't always work).

for the record, I used to whine as a college student about the T and the bus lines. The biggest beef I usually had, however was it didn't run past like 2am or something especially on weekends.

Now I live in ATL. OMG the T is soooooooo much better than MARTA.
