Ugh, I'm sorry about the sick! I hope you got some sleep today.

In the Dell line, I'd look at the small business machines -- specifically, the Latitude E6xxx line (or the E5xxx range with a serious warranty, maybe). My support experience with the Latitude was considerably better than many folks have reported with the consumer-model laptops.

At the end of that thread ( http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1890312&page=11 ) there's a link to an ebay auction (go to the relisted one off that link) for the same laptop, after Bing cash back and some ebay money scheme it comes out the same price... not sure how to make the details go though.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501, and it's been a good machine till recently. Not sure if it's any relation to the 15, so take that fwiw.
