Occult Periodicals

I would love a good periodical or even webzine devoted to ceremonial magic, Hermetic magic, alchemy, Kabbalah, Enochian, and related subjects. Most of the focus right now seems to be on various forms of Neo-Paganism (mostly 'eclectic', with Wicca actually becoming less and less common) and on chaos magic ( Read more... )

Unfortunately, magazines are harder to publish than people think--they take a ton of time to edit and lay out, and there's also the publishing cost. That;s why the Otherkin magazine never really gott off the ground--once we got to Seattle and realized just how much time we were going to invest in other things, there was just no way.

If you do find something, though, let me know. I'd be curious to check it out. Have you tried checking U.K. sources?

Yeah, it's kind of too bad. I'd love to expand upon my little article and publish it in your 'zine. :-) But I fully understand. But it still seems weird to me that nobody is running a ceremonial magic e-zine right now. At least none that I can find.

I'd be interested in doing that (starting one up) but I really need to know more about it.... Know where I can find a couple of examples?

The best I can think of is, of course, WitchVox, for sheer staying power and the ability to hold on to steady readership. They seem to do extraordinarily well at keeping people interested, and keeping a steady influx of new material. The thing is, they're focused on Neo-Paganism, and mostly 'eclectic' Neo-Paganism and Wicca. There's very little of interest for ceremonial magicians, Hermetics, British Traditional Wiccans, and the like. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it doesn't really fulfill all of my needs.
