I'm wondering about how Immanion compares to the others in terms of compensation to the author, publicity, etc. I've considered submitting my manuscript to them when it's done.

They compare quite nicely, actually, though the biggest difference comes in the fact that they do not yet have a huge US presence, so you have to do a lot of your own promotion and so forth. Honestly, that doesn't bug me much personally as I tend to be of the totally impractical and idealistic "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear" mentality. Which happens to include books. If I were writing for the money, I'd write shitty horror like Stephen King or Ann Rice.

There is a good thing about Stephen King though... the mini-series version of "The Stand" was excellent in my opinion. Whether or not that REALLY had anything to do with him or not--that's debateable. :D

It's hard to teach and not feel like an egomaniac.

I think it gets better as your ability to teach improves, though. At least, I hope it does.

I don't really know if this applies, but whenever I teach parts of martial arts, it makes me feel good; I like the idea that I can help someone explore a part of themself that was previously unknown. Also, I strongly believe in "by teaching you learn." So I say teach. Teach like a son of a bitch! ;)
