Unfortunately, no. Computers are actually not more intelligent than humans. They are just faster.

i agree that computers aren't more intelligent, and yet i am not sure that makes the answer to the original question automatically no. since computers have abilities humans can't, they seem to augment our intelligence and mobilize it more..?

Ok, here is "wyrmwwd's weird mind" time. Have you ever seen "Aliens"? Ripley gets into this big robot/forklift thing to fight Momma Alien. This is how I see computers. I am still the mind behind it, but the computer makes me so much bigger, stronger and shielded, thus making it possible for me to fight evil on a whole new level.

Aren't you sorry you brought this up?

i'm not sorry I brought it up.
Though I haven't seen alien, I would tend to agree with you.

I see computers as a tool for human intelligence. They do not have intelligence, they are tools modeled after intelligence. They enhance the intelligence of the human, but it does not create a separate evolved being. It is a human and the human's tool.

well of course they don't have intelligence. it just seems like they enhance humanity's intelligence. and because they were created by humans and enhance our intelligence, it almost seems like a form of evolution. does this make sense?
