Feeling better since the other entry. If you did not see the other entry, don't worry, you didn't miss anything and i only screened you from it bcs i don't want you to see my most unveiled shitty moods

i was torn about that but i think i might do it anyway, because, on the one hand, it's totally a crime, period, and on the other, it would reverse the official onus to me proving that they took the $ unjustly rather than them proving i took their shit - i rather wish they'd filed a report instead of their evil charge system, but i guess they're more skilled at stealing than that ;p. But i lose the same either way, i guess, so it might be useful for the sake of recordkeeping, statement-making, and putting their nuts in a vice.
They took it off our visa bank card, so it was real finite money, not a CC. and they took it way before we even knew they were doing that - we'd thought the charges were a different thing which we had been trying to investigate, so we lost the time in which we could have stopped it from coming out in the 1st place. we're still talking to our bank, but i think it's more difficult than saying "we aren't going to pay this debt back". alas.
Right but it's still a credit card which should allow some protections for unauthorized charges. Have you contacted the Better Business Bureau and the local Chamber of Commerce? $700 is a hell of a lot of stolen linens and it seems like someone would have noticed if you were lugging a laundry bag of linens out of the building. Could they have decided on you two based on personal .. bias?
I'd also suggest cancelling your current card and asking for a new one based on the fraudulent use of your personal information by the inn. I'd agree that you should file a police report for stolen goods and fraud.
