Doug Saunders on Obama's Peace Prize

I don't think I had commented on the Peace prize yesterday, but my first reaction was in the same line as most people in my lists: TOO SOON.

metalana posted a link to Doug Saunder's contention that Obama deserves the Nobel Peace prize, based on how the prize has been awarded in the past, and on the overtures Obama has made, which impact Europe a lot ( Read more... )

Yeah, I know that. (Didn't notice the travelling hand immediately...)

But Saunders is taking the perspective of who gave the prize ("Europe"), often at the forefront of the effects of U.S. foreign policy more than the U.S. itself, whether it is dealing with Russia, the Palestine/Israel conflict, or Iran.
