actually, no. you may be confusing the book with some of the movies. in the book, Dracula is disgusting. he is a corpselike old man with burning, hate-filled red eyes etc.
I thought that in the book Mina was drawn to Dracula in quite a sexual way, and Dracula's brides certainly cause problems for the men in the group! But I haven't read the book in years, and I also may be confusing the original Dracula with the vampires I've encountered much more often in the Buffy series. Despite this, the Master in Buffy is ancient and corpselike, just like you said about Dracula, so you may be right.
And I also kind of agree with you on Twilight too. While I hate the books, I do admit that there was something about it that drew me in, and I did get through the first three before giving up - and even then it was not because of my opinions on her use of vampires or anything, it was simply because of the incredibly bad writing. While Edward is fighting Victoria in the third one there is a line that goes (something like) "chunks of white stone were

sexual definitely- but sexy no. not in the book at least (Bela Lugosi was DEFINITELY sexy); but it is really easy to let later interpretations of Dracula and even other vampire stories trickle in. for me, it's really fresh in my mind because i've reread it recently. it is an interesting point you made with the brides though. they were both sexual AND sexy. i wonder if the author was aware of this double standard
