Question?

What sort of things do you put on the skills section of your CV? I'm filling out a job application for summer and I don't know what skills I have will be of use to them! I've never applied for a job by myself before (unless you count my newspaper round, which I don't), and it's very confusing!

Typically it might mean typing skills, accounting skills, etc. These days you should also include any software you are familiar with, like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook or Entourage) and if you are familiar with html.

Hope that helps!

The UK may be different from what I'm used to, but another idea might be to think about what skills are likely to be needed in the job you want to apply for (like writing, editing, organizing information, etc.), and then see if you can say you've got those skills based on prior experience (coursework, even apparently unrelated jobs like a newspaper route, etc.).

Good luck with the applications!
