Thanks so much! Yeah, I'd like to see more Felix-Helo friendship, too, although I do wonder how close they really were sometimes.

And thanks on HS Helo. Helo just has so much going for him, I can't believe he didn't have either an ego or a geek experience at some point himself.

Thanks! Yeah, this prompt DEMANDED I write it, and Felix wanted a break from my big bang. Couldn't blame him :)

I'm glad Karl came off okay. I like the idea that he learned from his experiences. I think that gives people more of the empathy that he shows later in the show, if it was hard come by rather than inborn.

Um, what IS the prompt, btw? Am I missing something? I don't see a prompt post anywhere. And no, can't blame Felix for wanting a break from cylon kidnappings. ;)

Karl came off fine. :) I've known that to happen with people, people who I thought were really horrible then a few years later you wouldn't even believe it.

This is a great explanation for Helo and Felix's friendship. I especially like the insight into Felix's view of the time Helo spent on Caprica. The idea that Helo recognized Baltar because of Felix's book is clever, too! Nice job!

Thanks so much! I was proud of that little Helo-recognizes-Baltar detail. I kind of like the idea that everyone sort of knew Felix had a hero-crush on him before the attacks happened :)

I like this. I've always felt that Helo and Felix had a good friendship before the attack and I like your take that it started out a lot rougher until they both grew up. It's odd how much I identify with Felix in this fic (I never got shoved in my locker, but I was assuredly on the geek side of the equation ( ... )

I suspect a LOT of Gaeta fans were more in Felix's shoes than Karl's. Well, I also suspect a lot of LJ users and BSG fans were, too, but Gaeta attracts the geeks- we recognize our own! :) (I was never shoved into lockers either, but was definitely on the geek side.)

I'm glad how the arcs mirrored each other came across- thanks! One of the things I was hoping would show was that there was this whole other story that Felix didn't know, about how Helo had social pressures and was sort of a... well, not geek, but was lowest in the pecking order on the pyramid team. I really wanted Felix to not think about it at all, but there's definitely a story there.

ZOMG I LOVE THOSE TWO AS FRIENDS SOOOOO MUCH.

And Felix getting shoved into lockers and being a band geek and then coming to the fore in college the Academy! <3 <3 <3 PERFECT.
