The Adventurers or the Guard are both good for people who can fight.

What do Adventurers do?

They explore the Wilderness to see if it's safe, and they help the Guard and the Watch keep people safe when disasters happen.

Who is in charge?

There's the Hatchery Guard, though you need more than fighting skills for that. The Adventurers gladly take people who are handy with weapons, too, I hear.

What else do you need to be a guard?

I'm not the Captain, so don't take this as a word of law, but a few things I've found useful.

Standing still and staying alert for at least some hours, patience, not losing your head over the mischief this place is prone to, taking orders as they're given, and patience. Most of the time, you stare at rows of cocoons, but when things get hairy, you need to snap to it and fast. Fighting is the least of what we do.

Unfortunately I don't know you that well, but for starters there's everything in the Bazaar. Then there's the farm and journal making and medical... There's a lot, seriously.
