Yay I have finished the first draft of the next chapter of learning to communicate, shall edit it and post it tomorrow, then get working on Zero X, whilst my gundam wing muse is playing ball.

I owe it all to a wondeful little internet based program : write or die. Depending on the settings you use it prompts you, plays annoying music or deletes your ( Read more... )

It only deletes it on the toughest setting (and it does warn you first), otherwise it plays annoying music at you instead.

My Who/Highlander bunny: following the destruction of Galifrey the TARDIS seems to have developed a fascination for Methos and keeps bringing the Doctor to him in different time periods (I haven't decided if she's feeling maternal, matchmaking or it's some weird time vortex thing). Both the doctor and Methos are getting tired of bumping into each other.

It has the potential to be quite long and involved. I can write Dr. Who well enough for a drabble or two but I haven't tried anything long before.

maybe as an even older living thing than the doctor its attracted to it? thinks its another time lord and is trying to get back 'home'?

I'd be happy to brainstorm it with you if you want, but if you jump back and forward you have to have the spoilers comment from silence in the library in there ;-)

Oh yes, Methos of course has met both future and past versions of the doctor. I want to suggest that the various earlier doctors have bumped into Methos once or twice but now the TARDIS is bringing them together a lot. To the TARDIS Methos is a substitute for something, I wondered about a link between immortals and TARDIS's or Time Lords but I think I'll leave that bit fuzzy for now (see if inspiration strikes me). Given how the TARDIS views time it could be because of something that hasn't happened yet too of course.

I can see her bringing the doctor to him everytime something major has happened, for example the TARDIS turning up in Adam Pierson's living room just after the death of The Master, when Methos has just engineered the death of his 'brothers'.

I really will have to rewatch Dr Who though to try and get the characterisations right.
