Ha-ha, I strike again! At any moment, you will have both "shapoopie" and any random Gilbert and Sullivan song stuck in your head. Also the theme song from Sha-na-na. Why should I be the only one to suffer?
I memed! Don't bother with Catcher in the Rye. You're too old. And I don't mean anything nasty by that. Life of Pi is pretty good, though Martel wussed out with his end. *I* think so, anyway.
I've never even *heard* of Life of Pi. Who the heck is Martel? Should I know this? I feel out of the loop.
Catcher in the Rye just sounded like fun, many years ago when I could have picked it. But my other choices were Once and Future King and the Book of Merlin and, um, I forget. So I picked those instead.
What moron made up this list? It includes, as separate items, both The Chronicles of Narnia and the first book in that series, and any list that includes both Dan Brown and Dostoevsky was obviously made by someone who hadn't read both of them. Further, a number of the listed books simply are not available in the US at this time without scouring used bookstores very few public libraries carry Blyton, or that particular work by Shute, etc.
That said, there are thirteen books on the list that I haven't read (and by "read" I mean "finished")... one of them being the aforementioned Dan Brown. Which came first: the thick glasses or the reading?

Who *did* make up that list? It's quite eclectic.
