 OK, universe, WTF!? Over the past year or so, my friends, family, and I have been undergoing almost constant crises and drama. And not just oh, crap, fender-bender, lost my wallet, computer died kind of crises (although those have happened, too) but getting laid off from a job you've had for 30 years, divorce, destruction, car on fire,

I'd rather not top anyone's tragic irony or terrible events list. In fact, I'd rather live more quietly, please. My imagination is more than capable of coming up with fictitious angst for my stories. I don't need this kind of help. And I'm feeling awful for my friends and family members who are faced with some of these events and decisions and pain. I wish I could do something more concrete for them, as I know they wish the same on my behalf.

I'm sorry for your loss and trauma, even if it was awhile ago.

Although this last year has been great for me personally, aside from the usual small crisis and deadlines that stress me out. However, most days it seems that all my close friends are falling to pieces. What helps me on those days is to step back for a while. It's easy to get overwhelmed by it all, so maybe take a couple days without phone or email and just concentrate on YOU for a while. I'll see you sunday, maybe getting your house in order will help restore calm, to some extent.

Um, all I can say is, the pie is sounding pretty good from here.

We had Bake-a-Palooza here today, and I don't know about you, but that's a real feel-good sort of thing to have two kinds of cookies and brownies all nice and hot from the oven.
