Oh, well done! *clap clap clap* How thrilling! You are going to be SO GOOD at that! Can't wait to hear you've "got a placement." And in the meantime, Writer Linz, how about coming up with a better term for a child than "placement"? I mean, I know that's Socio-speak, not you. You're gonna get a kidlet!!! Whee!

"Placement" isn't the child, it's the action. Since we can't call it an adoption yet, although I could call it a referral. And we aren't supposed to refer to the kiddo as a foster child per se, just a child who is staying with us ... there are a lot of rules. So for the action, it's kind of easier to say placement. I think there are a lot of linguistic gymnastics around all of this to try and avoid legal and privacy pitfalls. It gets weird.
