When I complained about wanting to see new things, I really didn't expect a horror story followed by a sinking ship. ... I guess this probably isn't the right time for a joke about loose lips, huh ( Read more... )

Probably.

I don't know. I hope not. I'm... going to try to talk to the captain. Someone. Anyone who will listen about the iceberg.

[Tim also looked very stylish, complete with top hat. He smiled back at her and nodded his head a little in acknowledgement.]

Timothy, huh? Does he go by that? Sounds like a pretty uptight guy. I don't know that I've seen him. [GRIN] But Hi anyway. I'm Tim.

[Hayley circled him after her approach, looking him up and down with obvious judgment painted on her features. She smiled at the end of it.]

You really don't look that bad, Tim, you know? [She admitted, before adding:] Timothy would be jealous.

I'll have to keep an eye out for him, then. [He grinned at her.] And you're not so bad yourself. It's a nice look for you.

[Hayley's face scrunched together in feigned distaste at the idea. The clothes weren't easy or comfortable, but she didn't really care what she wore if it served the same purpose. Still, a smile slid onto her lips, the kind that might look like she couldn't contain it, but which was mostly a natural reaction.]

It's too bad I can't go shopping in Flotsopolis, assuming we can even get back there. Maybe I'll have to try some of your clothes. [She murmured with that hint of something more, knowing he would rebuff it as always.]

[Tim laughed.]

When did business-casual become your style? [He grinned a little, obviously teasing her.] I thought you told me I was stuffy.

You're stuffy in it. You don't think I could pull it off? [She purred, brushing along his shoulder to head toward the front of the ship in a slow and deliberate manner, encouraging him to follow.] You should try a t-shirt sometime. You might totally love it.

[He took the cue and followed her toward the front of the ship.] Hm. Maybe. I used to wear t-shirts, back when I was young and reckless. I used to skateboard, too.

You? Skateboarding? [She laughed quietly, keeping their voices low given that they were talking about things not appropriate to the age or the ship.] I don't know that I believe that. I might have to see pictures.

[He laughed.] I'll show you, if we ever get hold of one. It took a while to learn, but I was pretty good for a while.

[Hayley turned around to face him, walking backward for a moment and then spinning around forward again.] I can't really picture you as the skateboarding type. Any other secret hobbies I should know about?

[He smiled at her as she spun to talk to him and then again to walk.] Photography? I've been taking and developing my own pictures since I was nine.

[She laughed, impressed and not mocking.] You might have to teach me. I used to watch my uncle in the dark room before he moved, but I never really learned.

I taught myself--mostly out of books. [He gives her a smile] I wouldn't mind showing you.

I know the basics from reading. [She admits with a shrug as they near the bow.] But not enough to really do it myself, you know?

All it takes is practice. [He pauses, considering his own learning process.] Okay, a lot of practice. And patience. And film.
