Sue? Sue, I think...I think we're set for medical supplies. And flu jabs.

[There's a long pause here.]

It's St. Bart's. [He laughs softly, though there's a bit of a hysterical edge to it.] St. Bartholomew's Hospital is here. St. Bart's in London. Or, you know, it should be in London, but not to worry, not to worry, it's perfectly normal to find ( Read more... )

[on duty voice is on]

Someone's there? Give me directions and I'll be there as fast as I can.

Don't approach them on your own unless it's someone you know. And keep talking to me.

Does it come with a free doctor in every box?

Uh...no. Just one. Just me, I suppose.

Yes? Is that rare where you come from?

[Costigan felt the single vibration from his phone that was alerting him to a new post to the network, but he could check it in a few minutes. He was a little busy right now.

The former undercover had just found the building in his now-daily rounds of wandering, having gone farther out of the city and on his way back, not having expected the hospital to crop up where he thought he hadn't seen it before. It seemed impossible to recognize the roads.

He already had the large bottle of Oxy open and was filling a couple of the smaller containers, having discarded whatever it was that was inside in a pile on a nearby counter. Costigan was just finishing with the Oxycontin and was scanning the other labels to try to find some anti-anxieties.

When he heard a noise, he immediately set down the larger pill container -- the two smaller already in his pocket -- and reached to unholster the gun at his back.]

[It probably wasn't the wisest thing to do, turning off his mobile, but John knew there wasn't much room for error when it came to sneaking up on somebody. And despite Sue's worry, he could take care of himself. His gun was tucked safely into the waistband of his jeans, ready for use if whoever he should encounter prove violent.

John slowly moved through the corridor, listening carefully for a hint as to where the noise was coming from. He finally narrowed it down to the in-house pharmacy for the hospital...which was worrying, actually. Very worrying.

There were two ways to do this: burst in there and take whoever it was by surprise, or announce himself and hope it isn't some manic. John chose the latter.]

"Hello? Who's in there?"

[Costigan had the gun down at his side by the time he heard the voice, just clicking the safety to the off position. The former undercover lifted the firearm as his mind processed the words, but then he paused and pulled his elbow back, pointing the gun up into the air.]

"Watson?" [He asked nervously. If it wasn't John, then he wasn't sure what the next step was. If it was John, then.. well, Costigan still didn't know what to do. He was as good as caught.]

[John had kept his hand at the back of his jeans while he waited for an answer. He knew better than to draw the weapon before he'd gotten confirmation that the person inside the room was a danger; it'd only cause more trouble, which the ex-army doctor didn't particularly fancy at this point in time.

He recognised the voice though, and found himself nearly sighing in relief.]

"Costigan. Yes, it's me."

[John took a single step into the room, but he didn't proceed any further. He knew almost immediately that he'd just caught his neighbour doing something a bit not good.]

A hospital. Yours.

This place...

Are you alright there? With...a mysterious someone?

The hospital I trained in, yes. Mine.

It keeps getting worse and worse? My thoughts exactly.

And yes, I'm alright. It was just one of our own.

Oh. I guess that's good to hear.

About all of it. I-no. It's not. I don't know what to think about all of this. The buildings that are from home and...that

Reassuring, I guess. I half hoped I was catching someone in the act of doing....well, I don't know exactly. Painting the walls, hanging a picture frame, something unusual.

I think....we've all just gone mad.
