After ten years as governor, he still doesn't know what his state's schools teach - and what it is legal to teach. This man is the gift that keeps on giving - to liberals. And perhaps to Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin.

It's almost as if he and others like him are just spoiling for a showdown, and I think I'm too close to all of it to really predict. I say that because I'm not really sure which side "middle America" would come down for in that fight. I see a lot, but I don't see all that much, comparative to the size and scope of the nation. I just have my somewhat informed cynicism/realism (whichever). And it's more than a tad worried.
