...and with which I agree. It is more correct to speak of "America" than of the "United States", because there are several other countries whose official names includes "United States" (U.S. of Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, etc.), but only one which includes "America".

True. But this also makes me think of someone I know who traveled in Mexico and Central America, and encountered people who would get testy if he told them he was American--their attitude was "so are we."

I can't think of any better name for my fellow citizens, though. USians? Yoopers and Trolls?(but that's only for Michigan).
