Nothing worse than a medical degree used as an excuse to get attention. Nothing worse...? Well, at least not much.

As a professor of psychology once told me, "Most in the mental health field absolutely dismiss the very notion of evil. It implies there is a definitive right and a definitive wrong. It forces judgment on actions. Worse yet, to them it implies the existence of the divine, which isn't scientific."

Well, this gentleman is a practicing member of the profession, so he evidently can argue to the opposite.

Dr. Goldstein himself was a believer in evil, something he told me he had to hide from his professional and academic colleagues.

Sanity is so unfashionable these days - the doctor can't be a terrorist because the White House has declared there to be no more war on terror...the word is forbidden. So he must just be a domestic madman who worked with psychiatrists who never noticed his insanity because he was sane until he was told to go fight Al Queda. But we can't have a congressional investigation because it would be a media circus. But prosecuting KSM in a civilian court in NYC will not be - that will be a show of strength. I can hear them all whistling the Col Bogie March.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Except I wish it were only the White House who insist on the "crazy man who snapped" narrative instead of facing facts.
