How much things have changed in 30 years. When I was seven, I was allowed to freely roam an area that was about a half kilometer square (boundaries set by my mother) - an area roughly the same size as Christopher Robin's "100 acre woods" - as long as my room was clean and my homework was done before I left and I was home before the streetlights came one or dinner, which ever came first.
