Is the subculture of furry intrinsically sexual in nature?I'm not asking what furry originally was (i.e., a simple interest in anthropomorphics), but rather how it exists today. Feel free to debate the nature of this subculture. Your personal perspectives, insights and experiences are sought. Debate amongst yourselves is also highly encouraged

I'm probably both over- and under-thinking that, but that's the way I personally think about the furry fandom, and it's one of the reasons I try not to be a part of it much. Almost all the subcultures of furry that I've ever seen are fetish-based, and they do follow the idea of "it feels good so it must be right, for me personally if not for everyone". It's kind of a philosophical hedonism, and I think that makes it inextricably tied to sex.
Of course not all furs are ruled entirely, or even primarily, by this--but I think it's the defining characteristic of the furry fandom.

Furs just wear it more publicly. I think we're not as ashamed of it, but we also try to make it cuter. It's not masturbation, its "Pawing". It's not sex, it's "Yiffing". I also think that we're not as repressed, we're not afraid to show some affection for each other. Some take advantage of it, but for most of us we know a hug is a hug.
Then again, it just might be that we all think that a rabbit with bit tits is just humorous....
